Kiuġiyaq: The Northern Lights, Middle School Guide
This standards-aligned unit of nine lessons will help students explore the aurora through Iñupiaq culture, language, and science. It includes hands-on activities, features a 25:25-minute educational video, Iñupiaq language pronunciation guide, and six other multimedia resources. Activity-based assessments are provided. The curriculum is in English with key terms in two Iñupiaq dialects. An online Alaska Native Language tool is available to support language inclusion in the classroom.
