Climate and Our Way of Life

This resource is designed to address the Alaska Native Values for Curriculum, Kodiak Sugpiaq/Alutiiq Values, Iñupiat Iḷitqusiat (Iñupiat Values), Athabascan Values, Ts’msyen Ayaawx, the Iñupiaq learning framework, the Gwich’in learning framework, Science Standards for Alaska, Alaska Cultural Standards, and Next Generation Science Standards. Teaching this resource in full will provide 9-12th grade students with an understanding of climate and how it impacts humans, plants, and animals, as well as empower students to be researchers and problem solvers.
